Moving Forward Together
To Develop Confident, Independent Learners

Years 5 and 6:  Home Learning

Weekly and Project Homework is available to download from the links on the left.

Reading - Across Key Stage two, it is recommended that children read or share a book for at least 15 minutes every day. We ask that five of these reading sessions are recorded in their homework diary each week.

It has been agreed that reading diaries should be signed by children, teacher and parents each week.  Please make sure the diaries come into school for signature and comments - thank you.

Literacy/Topic - Children will be given a short task to complete linked to literacy skills. This may include a short comprehension, writing activities or research and where possible spelling skills will be incorporated to reinforce work in class. Literacy Homework will be set on a Thursday and should be handed in on a Tuesday.

Maths - Weekly Numeracy homework will be based on consolidating the four operations and timetables facts. Tasks set will either be a mental maths activity or a problem solving activity reinforcing work carried out in class. Numeracy homework is set on a Thursday and is to be returned on a Tuesday.

Foundation Subjects - Projects are an alternative homework approach and feature in every Key Stage 2 homework plan. In year 3, 4, 5 and 6 homework projects will be set once per term (three per year) for a period of two weeks – this replaces any literacy homework in those two weeks with the exception of reading. Numeracy homework may continue.

Please note:

Homework is intended for pupils at Warboys Community Primary School only.  It should only be printed/downloaded for this purpose.
